Many companies aspire to be nature-positive, but it can be really hard to know how to go about it!
Moving from a ‘do-no-harm’ approach to nature (which is admirable but insufficient) to a more proactive ‘do-good’ approach, requires a detailed and science-based understanding of the natural environment which is beyond the capabilities of most organisations.
That’s why Zooss was thrilled to see the recent release of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists’ Blueprint to Repair Australia’s Landscapes. The blueprint provides a succinct and costed (!!) list of 24 actions, to be carried out over 30 years, which would restore much of Australia’s degraded landscapes and set us on a path towards regeneration.
And it could be all ours, for just 0.3% of GDP!
We see the report as a massive torch, beaming down on the most important and targeted ways that businesses can respond to their nature-related impacts. Congratulations to the 60+ expert contributors who spent six years compiling this hugely important piece of work.
At Zooss, we believe Sustainable Business Planning should be on every organisation’s agenda, and we can support this – using the Blueprint or other frameworks as guidance – by modelling the expenditure, operational changes, and pragmatic supplier collaboration tasks involved, ensuring that the transition to a nature-positive business is both well-planned and impactful.
Better Planning. Better Planet.
